Air (through its receiver) and the CAN bus can be controlled from outside the wired loop, and the pending Air Hub direction adds Wi-Fi and MQTT. That calls for a control application platform, which the user wants treated as an independent product line rather than an extension of Mate.

Evaluate the smart-home protocol and ecosystem options for that platform — Tuya, Matter (over Wi-Fi, Thread and Ethernet), Thread as a transport, Zigbee, Z-Wave, HomeKit, Home Assistant, plain MQTT conventions, KNX and the ecosystem clouds — against these hard requirements:

  1. Offline first: full control on the boat with no internet, and no cloud dependency in the control loop.
  2. Security isolation: authenticated, per-device identities; the ecosystem or third-party layer cannot reach the CAN bus or bypass the local authorization point.
  3. Local veto over remote control: the boat can refuse or lock out remote commands, and only an on-board action can lift that lock.

Deliverable: a Chinese evaluation document under a new product directory, with a comparison matrix, a recommended protocol stack and platform architecture, a positioning boundary against Mate (P08), Hub (P03) and Studio (P07), and open items; plus the product-index, product-plan and directory-index entries a new product line requires.

Acceptance: every protocol claim carries an official source URL or is marked unverified; the recommendation does not assert compatibility the hardware does not carry; the Mate/Hub/Air documents are not modified; bun run docs:build and git diff --check pass.

  • Related in-progress work: 20260911-1916-air-key-hub-sleep-and-key-scaling owns the Air Hub naming and the Wi-Fi/MQTT-capable receiver direction; this task references that direction without editing its documents.

  • complete: Evaluation document, product index, product plan, open questions and changelog delivered; docs:build (192 pages) and git diff --check pass.
