2026-09-14 Air and Air Hub as single self-contained specifications

  • status: superseded
  • date: 2026-09-14
  • sunset: 2026-12-31
  • deviates from: docs/documentation-standard.md part 4 (a package holds a separate design slot once lifecycle passes concept, and a guide slot before evt when outsourced)

Superseded on 2026-09-22 by 2026-09-22-switch-four-slot-model.md: Air and Air Hub were split back onto the standard slots when the whole Switch line was put on one four-slot model.

Before this decision, Air and Air Hub were spread over eight files (795 lines): a Level 1 record, a design appendix, a platform-options comparison, a device evaluation, and a shared supplier guide that restated the whole set as an RFQ. The same figure appeared in three registers, and the three contradictions recorded in task 20260914-0010 (Air MCU, Air Hub platform, Air Hub power target) survived only because they sat in different files. Plan 20260913-2340-air-docs-consolidation proposed two self-contained documents so that each product is one reading and one RFQ package.

bizplan/product/switch/air/P05-air.md and bizplan/product/switch/air-hub/P05-air-hub.md each hold, in one file, the Level 1 specification, the Level 2 design content, the platform comparison, and the supplier delivery and acceptance clauses. The two packages therefore carry no -design and no -guide file. Device evaluations stay in evaluations/ as the standard requires. The Key package keeps the standard three-file split; Air Hub cites the Air file for the clauses common to both manufacturing scopes rather than repeating them.

The Level 1 / Level 2 rule still applies inside each file: chapter 2 (目标规格) and chapter 3 (功能与状态行为) are the Level 1 values; chapters 4 to 7 must not change them.

Easier: one document per product to read, quote, and keep consistent; contradictions between registers cannot hide. Harder: the files are long (about 300 lines each), and a supplier RFQ cannot be handed out without the internal design chapters. At the sunset date, review whether Key should follow the same consolidation (making the line three documents instead of six) or whether Air and Air Hub should be split back onto the standard slots once their designs are frozen at D1.
